Powered by Bob Bowen, the New Britain Rock Cats downed the Reading Fightin Phils, 7-3. Bowen went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Rock Cats. Picking up the save was fireballing right-hander Jorge Lima. New Britain is now 19-16, while Reading is 19-15.

Early in the game, Bowen had a 2-run home run for New Britain. It was his 4th home run of the season and put the Rock Cats on top, 2-0.

"I still think this team can play even better," Bowen told the New Britain Today.
