Cincinnati first baseman Jorge Llerena contributed significantly to his team's 4-1 win over the Chicago Cubs. Llerena, who finished 4th in the NL in triples with 8 in 2023, went 3 for 4 with 1 run scored to lead the offensive attack for the Reds. Cincinnati is now 47-49, Chicago 44-53.

Early in the game, Llerena had a bases-clearing triple for Cincinnati. It was his 2nd triple of the season and put the Reds on top, 3-0.

"Clutch hitting plus clutch pitching usually equals a win," said Llerena.
