Munoz goes 3-for-5 in Fightin Phils Win
|
Getting a good performance from first baseman Yairo Munoz, the Reading Fightin Phils defeated the Richmond Flying Squirrels, 8-5. Munoz went 3-5 with a home run and a double. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3 for the Fightin Phils. Reading reliever Tony Smith was the winner. His record is now 1-1. Mike Perry took the loss. Reading now has a record of 17-13 with the win.
Had Raúl López not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, López hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 6-5, in favor of the Fightin Phils.
"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said López.
