The New Hampshire Fisher Cats could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Bo Ferguson into a win. Instead, the Trenton Thunder prevailed, 4-2. Ferguson threw 7.0 innings allowing 3 runs. Jesús Barajas got the save, the 2nd for him this season. New Hampshire, with the loss, is 1-2.

Eric Strong delivered a big hit for Trenton. The pinch hitter drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Thunder ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit, but it was a beauty.

"We scored more than enough runs this time," said Trenton manager Cody Decker. "Now watch. The next game we'll probably struggle to get a base hit."
