Riding the 3-hit performance of second baseman Doug Brown, the Greensboro Grasshoppers stopped the visiting Rome Firebirds, 11-3, in Game 2 of the Round 2. Brown was 3-5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Grasshoppers, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 2 games to 0.

An inflection point occurred with one out in the bottom of the fourth. That's when Grasshoppers center fielder Juan Souza hit a changeup from Jorge Soto for a 2-run single. Just like that, Greensboro was up, 4-3.

"We did more than enough to get the win," said Brown.

Game 3 is scheduled for Monday at State Mutual Stadium in Rome.
