Minnesota Twins starter Shawn Cummings turned in an exceptional performance against the Chicago White Sox at Target Field, resulting in a Minnesota win, 3-2. Jorge Fajardo was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 20 of 21 save opportunities. The win gives Minnesota a season record of 35-28.

Minnesota left fielder Andy Townsend contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a changeup to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 72nd hit of the season and put the Twins ahead, 3-2.

"I just tried to focus on getting that first guy out every inning," said Cummings.
