The Portland Sea Dogs picked up a win at Arm & Hammer Park, downing the Trenton Thunder, 9-3. On the mound for Portland was right-hander Sukejuro Takeuchi, who played a pivotal role in the win. The loss drops Trenton to 15-10.

Ken Bowling had a big bases-clearing double for the Sea Dogs in the top of the first inning. With Portland leading 2-0 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from Eric McClain and swatted a double to center. It was his 1st double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Sea Dogs ahead, 5-0.

"Sukejuro had himself a pretty good evening," said Portland manager Stu Cole.
