Lakewood Wins at Home to Take 2-1 Lead in R2
The rookie looked like he belonged out there.

The Lakewood BlueClaws sent 23-year-old right-hander Kade Lynch to the mound today for a high-pressure playoff start and he repaid their confidence, quieting the Savannah Sand Gnats on a day where the BlueClaws struggled to produce runs of their own. In the end, Lakewood cobbled together enough to take the 1-0 decision. The win gave Lakewood a 2-1 lead in the best-of-7 Round 2.

Lynch, a native of Springfield, Pennsylvania, was dealing all game. He kept Savannah hitters off-balance, while giving the BlueClaws 7.1 quality innings. Lynch threw 84 pitches, allowing 3 hits and striking out 9.

Lynch attributed the win to "everyone pulling their weight."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at First Energy Park in Lakewood.
