Raucous Fluor Field at the West End Crowd Propels Drive to 2-0 Victory; Series Tied at 2
The Greenville Drive and the Asheville Tourists will take the Round 1 to a decisive 5th game. Facing a must-win situation, the Drive shut out the Tourists, 2-0, at Fluor Field at the West End to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Greenville right-hander Jim Jones did his part. He threw 9.0 innings of shutout ball.

Jones pitched a complete game for Greenville. The right-hander was charged with no runs on 8 hits. He struck out 10 during his 127-pitch performance.

"It's so much easier when you throw good pitches," said Jones.

The next game is set to be played for Tuesday, September 17th , 2024 at McCormick Field in Asheville.
