Sandoval, Shorebirds Wallop Intimidators in Game 2 of R1
Riding the 2-hit performance of first baseman Mike Sandoval, the Delmarva Shorebirds flattened the Kannapolis Intimidators, 16-1, in Game 2 of the Round 1. Sandoval went 2 for 4 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs and drove in 5 for the Shorebirds, who now lead 2-0 in the best-of-5 series.

Sandoval came through for the Shorebirds in the top of the second inning. With Delmarva leading 3-1, the first baseman hit a grand slam home run. It made the score 7-1, Delmarva.

"We haven't stopped playing," Kannapolis manager Jose Gualdron said. "We didn't get this far to give up."

The next game is set to be played for Saturday, September 14th , 2024 at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium in Salisbury.
