The New York N (DSL) Mets 1 moved to within one game of the League Series today, downing the Houston 1 (DSL) Astros Blue on the road at Houston Astros Complex Orange by a score of 5-2. Mets 1 left-hander Zach Fields had a strong outing. He threw 5.1 innings of 2-hit ball. The win gives the Mets 1 a 2-0 advantage in the best-of-5 Division Series.

New York N (DSL) used a clutch hit from Albert Vélez to get the win. The first baseman drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Mets 1 ahead, 5-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"I got everyone together and told them they did great today," New York N (DSL) manager Steve James told BNN reporters after the game. "But I warned them that even if we make it out of the Division Series, it's only going to get harder."

The next game is set to be played for Monday, September 11th , 2023 at New York Mets Complex.
