San Diego (DSL) Padres starter Scotty Baxter hurled his team past the New York A (DSL) Yankees 1, 3-2. Micheal Browning picked up the save for San Diego (DSL), his 4th of the year. Yes, it was a win for San Diego (DSL); but their 22-46 record is still nothing to boast about.

Stan Strong produced at a critical juncture for San Diego (DSL). It happened in the top of the ninth with Robinson Salazar on the mound and San Diego (DSL) leading 1-0. That's when the 22-year old second baseman Strong hit a 2-run home run.
