Diamondbacks Fall Short, 3-2, at Cincinnati (DSL)
Due in large part to third baseman Ed Tomkins, the Cincinnati (DSL) Rojos sunk the Arizona (DSL) Diamondbacks, 3-2. Tomkins went 2-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Cincinnati (DSL) reliever Kevin Payne picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Jeff Ray absorbed the loss. Cincinnati (DSL) goes to 36-26, Arizona (DSL) to 34-27.

With Cincinnati (DSL) trailing 1-0 in the bottom of the third, Tomkins hit a fastball from Jeff Ray for a 3-run home run. It was his 11th home run of the season and put the Rojos ahead, 3-1.

"This is a very good team," said Tomkins. "We have the chance to do something special."
