Multi-HR Day for Harvey as Reds Overpower Nationals, 7-5
Led by Walt Harvey, the Cincinnati (DSL) Reds downed the Washington (DSL) Nationals, 7-5. Harvey was 3-5 with 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice for the Reds. Aurelio Gobbi locked down his 9th save. The Nationals, now 23-37, have lost 4 in a row.

The Nationals had been locked in a 2-2 tie with the Reds going into the top of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 24-year old center fielder Jon Welch came to the plate. Welch hit a 2-run home run on a full count cutter from Washington (DSL) hurler Chris González. It was Welch's 13th home run of the year.

"Some of the guys in here work hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Harvey told the Cincinnati (DSL) Observer.
