The Diamondbacks grabbed a win, 8-6, at Baseball City Complex, overcoming a fine effort from New York A 2 (DSL) pitcher Joe Ward. Ward went 6 innings and allowed 3 runs. Steve Mitchell picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-1. Manny López was tagged with the loss. The Diamondbacks have now won 4 straight.

The Diamondbacks got a big at-bat from catcher António Díaz, who in the bottom of the eighth hit a 2-run double. It was his 11th double of the season and put the Diamondbacks on top, 6-4.
