Firebirds Earn 7-1 Win Versus San Francisco (DSL)
Spirited fans greeted the San Francisco (DSL) Giants for their clash with the Atlanta (DSL) Firebirds.

Atlanta (DSL) got a strong outing from Steve Preston as the Firebirds defeated the San Francisco (DSL) Giants, 7-1, at Rawling Foundation Complex. Preston, the winner, moves to 5-3. He threw 7.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 1 walk.

José Rúbio, the 22-year old third baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Rúbio contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put Atlanta (DSL) up, 2-0.

"It's easier to pitch when you get run support," said Preston.

The Firebirds bumped their record to 32-26 with this win.
