Down Goes DSL, 2-1, to DSL
|
The DSL Rays got a superb performance from pitcher Ken Young. Still, it wasn't enough to beat DSL. The Reds won the game, 2-1. Young threw 5.2 innings of 3-hit ball. Jorge Ayala snagged the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on 3 hits over 3 innings. He's now 2-1 on the season. Sergio Menéndez got the save, the 7th for him this season.
The Reds got a big at-bat from designated hitter Jun Jiang. For the game, Jiang went 1-3 with a home run. In the bottom of the sixth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave DSL a 2-1 lead.
"We need better swings, better at-bats," said losing manager Jesus Sucre.
DSL is now 15-20, while DSL is 13-16.
