In a close game at Academia de Prospecto Complex, the Detroit (DSL) Tigers edged the Miami (DSL) Marlins, 4-3, in 10 innings. Detroit (DSL) third baseman Steve Alexander stood apart with his performance. He went 2-2 with 2 home runs. Detroit (DSL) reliever Ed Mobley picked up the win, upping his record to 3-0. Raúl Montoya took the loss. The first-place Tigers have won 8 straight.

Alexander had a game-changing home run in the top of the tenth. On a first pitch cutter from Raúl Montoya, he banged a solo home run to left, giving the Tigers a 4-3 lead. It was the 4th home run of the year for Alexander.

"We're in some kind of groove right now," said Alexander.
