The performance of José Ruíz proved critical in helping New York N 2 (DSL) beat Houston 1 (DSL), 7-5, in 10 innings. The Mets 2 third baseman was 4-6 with a double and 3 singles. He scored 2 runs. The loss makes Houston 1 (DSL) 30-12.

New York N 2 (DSL) used the timely hitting of Juan Garza to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Mets 2 on top, 6-5. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Took some scratching and clawing," said Garza. "But we got it done."
