Smith Leads Nationals to Win
In a well-pitched game between the Washington (DSL) Nationals and the Miami (DSL) Marlins, pitcher Jerry Smith was fantastic. The Washington (DSL) right-hander helped his team secure the win, 3-1. The Nationals, now 18-25, know that wins in August count the same as wins in September.

Washington (DSL) third baseman Jesús Pérez contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With two down, he hit a fastball into left field for a run-scoring double. It was his 11th double of the season and put the Nationals ahead, 3-1.

"Glad to go home with a win," said Pérez.
