The Chicago N (DSL) Cubs beat the Minnesota (DSL) Twins, 7-4, at Baseball City Complex. Doug Stone, in particular, was impressive. He was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The Cubs, now 18-21, know that wins in August count the same as wins in September.

Stone had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the sixth. On a 1-1 fastball from José Fernández, he banged a 3-run home run to left, giving the Cubs a 6-4 lead. It was the 9th home run of the year for Stone.

"I had some good swings out there," said Stone.
