The Cleveland (DSL) Spiders stopped the Minnesota (DSL) Twins, 7-6, behind an impressive performance from Juan Carlos Carballo. The 17-year old shortstop made life miserable for Minnesota (DSL) pitching. He went 2-3 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. The winner in relief was Don Cooper. He is now 1-0. The right-hander allowed no runs on 3 hits in 2.1 innings. The win has Cleveland (DSL) at 14-23.

An important at-bat for Cleveland (DSL) came with no one out in the bottom of the second inning. With the bases loaded, Carballo hit a grand slam home run, which contributed to the Spiders win.
