Late Rally by Tigers Secures 10-7 Win
A good performance from third baseman Steve Alexander helped the Detroit (DSL) Tigers defeat the Colorado (DSL) Rockies, 10-7. Alexander was 1 for 1 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Tigers. Detroit (DSL) reliever Pepe Gámez picked up the win to move to 1-0. Phil Kenney suffered the loss. The win gives Detroit (DSL) a season record of 21-12.

The game came to a dramatic end. In the bottom of the ninth, with Detroit (DSL) trailing 7-6, Alexander hit a cutter from Phil Kenney for a grand slam home run, giving the Tigers the walk-off win.

"It felt good to put the barrel on the ball," said Alexander.
