Slumping Mariners Lose Again, 4-1
Starting pitcher Ernesto Martínez took care of business, helping the New York A 2 (DSL) Yankees 2 stifle the Seattle (DSL) Mariners, 4-1. Kyoichi Matsumoto was credited with the save for New York A 2 (DSL), his 4th of the season. New York A 2 (DSL) is 11-11 and Seattle (DSL), with the loss, 5-17.

Bob Walters had a big 2-run double for the Yankees 2 in the bottom of the third inning. With New York A 2 (DSL) leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a slider from Steve Woodard and swatted a double to center. It was his 8th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Yankees 2 ahead, 3-0.

"If it can go wrong, it will go wrong," said Ruben Escalera, the Seattle (DSL) manager.
