Detroit (DSL) left fielder Merlin Harris helped his team beat the Washington (DSL) Nationals, 4-1. Harris went 2 for 2 for the Tigers. The winner in relief was Pancho Sosa. He is now 1-0. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.2 innings. The win for the Tigers lifted their record to 12-8.
In the bottom of the ninth, with the score tied, Harris hammered a 3-run home run to win it for Detroit (DSL).
"We got what we needed when we needed to," said Detroit (DSL) manager Hisashi Iwakuma.
