The New York N 2 (DSL) Mets 2 and starting pitcher Robinson López stifled the Texas 2 (DSL) offense en route to a comfortable 9-1 win at New York Mets Complex. López yielded 1 run over 7.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 2, and struck out 8. His record improves to 2-0. New York N 2 (DSL) goes to 13-3, Texas 2 (DSL) to 8-8.

Ed Wright had a big 2-run double for the Mets 2 in the bottom of the second inning. With New York N 2 (DSL) leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a slider from 20-year old left-handed pitcher Juan Ramírez and swatted a double to right. It was his 13th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Mets 2 ahead, 3-0.

"We didn't pitch good, and when you don't pitch good, you lose," said Texas 2 (DSL) manager Kieran Mattison.
