The Arizona (DSL) Diamondbacks reigned over the Houston 2 (DSL) Astros Orange in damp conditions.

Despite a great performance by Houston 2 (DSL) first baseman Arturo Rivera, the Arizona (DSL) Diamondbacks defeated the Astros Orange by the score of 9-4 at Houston Astros Blue. Rivera was 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and was hit by a pitch, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Juan Cuervo, the winner, is now 1-0. He struck out 6 and walked 1 over 7 innings, while allowing 3 runs on 7 hits. Conan Thomas was credited with the save for Arizona (DSL), his 1st of the season.

Jonathan Engeman went 2 for 4 with 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs for Arizona (DSL). The 22-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the top of the seventh. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Pepe Soto. It was his 4th RBI of the season.
