The DSL Mariners opened their 2026 season with a triumph over the DSL Diamondbacks at Las Palmas Complex. The final score was 6-5. DSL designated hitter Jim Wallace had a big game. He was 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once.

Had Atamu Rokeni not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Rokeni hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 6-5, in favor of the Mariners.
