The Arizona (DSL) Diamondbacks topped the New York N (DSL) Mets 1 by a score of 4-3. Leading the way was left fielder Tony Gómez. Gómez was 2-4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice for the Diamondbacks. Stan Bailey earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. Gómez had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a 2-0 fastball from Luis Manuel Venegas, he banged a solo home run to center, giving the Diamondbacks a 4-3 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Gómez.

"It was a good effort all around," said Gómez.
