Irvin Excels, But Rangers 2 Win
The inspired effort of Seattle (DSL) first baseman Steve Irvin was not enough to prevent a loss, 10-8, to the Texas 2 (DSL) Rangers 2. Irvin went 3-5 with a home run and 2 doubles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 5. Earning his 3rd save for Texas 2 (DSL) was Robby Smith. The win gives Texas 2 (DSL) a record of 3-0.

Texas 2 (DSL) used a clutch hit from Bob Faulkner to get the win. The designated hitter drilled a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Rangers 2 ahead, 9-8. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Faulkner.
