Fans brought energy and enthusiasm to the Texas (DSL) Rangers home opener. Raúl Pérez started for the home team against José Romero for the Minnesota (DSL) Twins. The Rangers were unable to reward the home crowd with a win. The final score was 10-6, Minnesota (DSL). Dave Brewer, though, was impressive.

Ron Walker, the Minnesota (DSL) second baseman, contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning to make the score 4-1, Twins. For the game, Walker went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.

"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Walker told the Minnesota (DSL) Herald.
