White Sox Lose By a Run at Cincinnati (AZL), 7-6

The Cincinnati (AZL) Reds withstood an impressive performance by Chicago A (AZL) left fielder Greg McFarland to defeat the White Sox, 7-6, at Ed Smith Stadium. McFarland was 2 for 5 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Dan Allen picked up the win with 5 innings of work. He allowed 2 runs on 7 hits, while walking 0 and striking out 3. On the season, he is now 2-6. Joe Hill converted his 1st save in 2 tries.
The Reds grabbed the lead in the bottom of the second. With one out, Phil Baker hit a 3-run home run off Geoffrey Jenkins, putting Cincinnati (AZL) in front, 3-2. For Baker, it was his 7th home run of the season.
"There's never a lack of effort in our clubhouse. We're willing to do the little things to get the win," Baker told the Cincinnati (AZL) Today.
The Reds now have a record of 15-40.
