Mariners Edge White Sox, 3-2
|
In a low-scoring affair between the Seattle Mariners and the Chicago White Sox, pitcher Eric Wilkerson was the difference between victory and defeat. The Seattle left-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 3-2 Mariners win. Eddie Muggleston earned the save for Seattle, his 14th. Seattle is now 26-24, 3 games up in the American League West Division.
Drew Dosch had a big 2-run double for the Mariners in the bottom of the first inning. With Seattle leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a changeup from Rocky Thompson, who is tied for 8th in the AL in quality starts with 5, and swatted a double to left. It was his 2nd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Mariners ahead, 3-0.
"That's what this team is about," said Dosch, "picking each other up."
