Reds Rally Late to Nip Phillies
The Cincinnati Reds beat the Philadelphia Phillies, 9-8, in 10 innings at Citizens Bank Park. Blake Anderson, in particular, was impressive. He went 3 for 5 with 3 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The win belonged to Doug Hall in relief. His record improves to 6-0. Alex Claudio took the loss for Philadelphia. Dave Parsons was called on to finish, recording his 16th save.

Cincinnati used the timely hitting of Leury Garcia to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Reds on top, 9-8. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"You can't hate how you win if you win," said Cincinnati skipper Kevin Cash.

With the win over Philadelphia, the Reds improved to 25-23.
