The Akron RubberDucks locked up a win at Canal Park, knocking off the Portland Sea Dogs, 4-3. On the mound for Akron was left-hander Jorge Pagán. He played a major role in the triumph. Reliever José López picked up the win. His record improves to 1-1. Dave Lavington took the loss. The Sea Dogs drop to 10-12 and continue their mediocre start to the 2025 season.

The decisive blow was delivered by Cliff Martin in the bottom of the 11th when he hit a solo home run off 24-year old right-handed pitcher Dave Lavington to win the game for Akron. The home crowd went nuts.

"Jorge set the tone with his ability to attack the hitters," said Akron manager Keith Johnson.
