Bass Lifts Rangers to 9-2 Triumph
With third baseman Joe Bass leading the charge, the Texas (AZL) Rangers defeated the Chicago A (AZL) White Sox, 9-2, at Surprise Stadium. Bass, who is tied for 3rd in the AZL in bases on balls with 25, was 4-5 with a home run and 2 doubles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. The winning pitcher was Rodrigo Martínez. He's now 3-0. He went 8 innings, allowing 2 runs on 4 hits for the Rangers. The win for the Rangers lifted their record to 30-16.

With Texas (AZL) leading 1-0 in the bottom of the fourth, Bass hit a fastball from Erik Jerningham for a 2-run double. It was his 17th double of the season and put the Rangers ahead, 3-0.

Bass said his wife shared good advice with him before the game. "She said, 'Don't allow this game to make you mad.' When I thought about it, I realized this is just a game. I was able to relax at the plate."
