Reds Improve to 29-17 with 1-0 Win
|
The Los Angeles N (AZL) Dodgers wasted an impressive 6-inning effort from starter Steve García, falling, 1-0, to the Cincinnati (AZL) Reds at Ed Smith Stadium. Rob Riley, 2-1, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 3 hits in 3 innings. The Reds bumped their record to 29-17 with this latest triumph.
Cincinnati (AZL) took a 1-0 lead on Kevin Danford's 4th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Danford hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Los Angeles N (AZL) pitcher Tony Hartman visibly frustrated.
Danford said afterward that his team has grown over the course of the season, adding: "It feels good when a plan comes together."
