The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers overcame a pretty good performance by Cedar Rapids third baseman Luis Hernández, beating the Kernels, 5-4, at Neuroscience Feild at Fox Cities Stadium. Hernández went 4 for 4 with 2 doubles and 2 singles. Juan Fuentes, now 2-0, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 1.1 innings. The save went to Walt Austin, number 10 for him.

Tim Burks went 2-3 with a double and a walk for Wisconsin. With two out and the game tied in the bottom of the seventh inning, Burks had a clutch at-bat. Facing Cedar Rapids hurler Bo Ferguson, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run to give the Timber Rattlers a 5-4 lead.

"I'm just looking to see the ball, hit the ball," said Burks.

The Timber Rattlers move to 58-78 with the win, while the Kernels drop to 76-60.
