James, Great Lakes Prevail in Pitchers' Duel
|
In a tension-filled contest between the Great Lakes Loons and the Lake County Captains, pitcher Joe James was superb. The Great Lakes left-hander spearheaded his team's 1-0 win. Great Lakes goes to 62-74, Lake County to 72-64.
James earned the win to move to 10-2. In his 8-inning performance, he scattered 3 hits, striking out 7 and walking 4. The left-hander allowed the Captains few scoring opportunities.
"I was a little disappointed," said Lake County manager David Peralta. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
