Captains Deal Dayton 10-1 Defeat
|
The Lake County Captains thumped the Dayton Dragons, 10-1, at Classic Park. Cory MacLean was a big reason his team got the win. MacLean went 2-5 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Alex Lake, the winner, is now 3-1. He struck out 5 and walked 0 over 5.1 innings, while allowing 1 run on 5 hits. Jeff García picked up the save for Lake County, his 2nd of the year.
With Lake County leading 7-1 in the bottom of the seventh, MacLean came up to bat against Dayton pitcher Bob Wolfe. MacLean hit a slider to left-center for a 3-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season put the Captains on top, 10-1.
"You start putting runs on the board and winning, everyone's going to get excited," said MacLean.
The victory gives the Captains a record of 73-63.
