Rancho Cucamonga Nets 3-2 Win Versus Storm
|
Bobby Mills was a major contributor to the 3-2 Rancho Cucamonga win over Lake Elsinore. The Quakes third baseman was 2-3 with 2 singles and a walk. Rancho Cucamonga reliever Jorge Castro picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Rusty King was saddled with the loss. Rancho Cucamonga is now 67-68, while Lake Elsinore is 44-91.
Had Mills not come through in the bottom of the eighth, who knows how the game would've ended? But with two down, Mills hit a run-scoring single. The Quakes took the lead, 3-2, and never looked back.
Mills called the win a testament to his team's "tenacity."
