The Stockton Ports racked up a win at Banner Island Ballpark, bumping off the San Jose Giants, 7-3. Dave Wood, who started for Stockton, pitched effectively for his team. Mike Hutchinson was credited with the save, his 14th in 16 tries. Today's win puts Stockton at 55-77, while San Jose falls to 73-59.

Ben Malone had a key at-bat with one out in the bottom of the second for Stockton. With the bases loaded and the Ports leading 1-0, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run.

"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Malone.
