Reds right fielder Don Bailey put his stamp on his team's 9-4 win over the San Diego (AZL) Padres. Bailey was 4-5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs for Cincinnati (AZL) in the contest. Cincinnati (AZL) reliever Denver Burgess snagged the win, upping his record to 1-1. Dan Porter shouldered the loss. Rob Riley nailed down the save.

Phil Baker had a big 3-run home run for the Reds in the bottom of the third inning. With Cincinnati (AZL) trailing 3-2 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from Dan Porter and swatted a home run to left-center. It was his 1st home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Reds ahead, 5-3.

"The credit goes to our offense," said Cincinnati (AZL) manager Mark Lamm.

The Reds bumped their record to 8-5 with this win.
