Malone Propels Arizona (AZL) Offense in 11-3 Rout
The Arizona (AZL) Diamondbacks met little resistance from the Los Angeles A (AZL) Angels, beating them 11-3 at Tempe Diablo Stadium. Ken Malone led the way. He hit 3 home runs, while adding 8 RBI and scoring three times for Arizona (AZL). The winning pitcher was Gene Jensen. He's now 1-0. He went 5.1 innings, allowing 2 runs on 5 hits for the Diamondbacks. The Diamondbacks, now 8-3, have hit the ground running this season.

With Arizona (AZL) leading 1-0 in the top of the third, Malone hit a fastball from Mike Taylor for a 3-run home run. It was his 6th home run of the season and put the Diamondbacks ahead, 4-0.
