Connecticut Win to Pull Even With Lowell
The Connecticut Tigers and the Lowell Spinners will take the Round 1 to a decisive 5th game. In a must-win situation today, the Tigers beat the Spinners 6-1 at Edward A. LeLacheur Park to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Connecticut left-hander José Cervantes had a big role in the win. He threw 5.1 innings of 3-hit ball.

Tony Boggs dealt the Spinners a blow in the top of the first. Batting with a runner on 1st and Connecticut leading 1-0, Boggs hit a 0-2 slider for a 2-run home run.

"José just went about his business, throwing strikes," said Connecticut manager Bo Porter.

Game 5 is scheduled for Thursday at Senator Thomas J. Dodd Memorial Stadium in Norwich.
