Round 2 Game 1 Goes to Connecticut, Thanks to Pelayo
The Connecticut Tigers started the Round 2 in style, downing the visiting State College Spikes at Senator Thomas J. Dodd Memorial Stadium by a score of 6-4 to stake an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Tigers left-hander Arsenio Pelayo threw 5.2 innings of 3-hit ball.

José García helped out the Connecticut cause in the bottom of the seventh inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the left fielder drew 1 walk.

Connecticut manager Bo Porter commended his team for exhibiting "no shortage of effort."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Senator Thomas J. Dodd Memorial Stadium in Norwich.
