Connecticut Breaks Through for First Win in Round 1; Now Trails 2-1
Already down in the Round 1, the Connecticut Tigers put on their best show, beating the Lowell Spinners by a final score of 3-0 today. Sandy Lowe was special. He threw 6.1 innings of shutout ball. Connecticut now trails Lowell 2-1 in the best-of-5 affair.

With one out in the top of the sixth, Luis Aquino put Connecticut in front, 1-0, with a solo home run. The Tigers went on to win the ballgame.

"Sometimes a win comes easy," Lowe told the Connecticut Observer. "And sometimes you have to scratch and claw."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Edward A. LeLacheur Park in Lowell.
