Lowell Tops Connecticut Again, 4-1
The Lowell Spinners moved to within one game of the Round 2 today, downing the Connecticut Tigers on the road at Senator Thomas J. Dodd Memorial Stadium by a score of 4-1. Spinners right-hander Kevin Fitzpatrick had a strong outing. He threw 5.2 innings of 4-hit ball. The win gives the Spinners a 2-0 advantage in the best-of-5 Round 1.

Helping the Lowell cause was Ken Bowling. In the top of the fourth, the 22-year old catcher had a bases-clearing double to make the score 4-0, Spinners.

Bowling attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."

Game 3 is scheduled for Monday at Edward A. LeLacheur Park in Lowell.
