The Altoona Curve got a marvelous performance from pitcher Tim Gray. The right-hander kept the Richmond offense from ever getting much traction. The result was an impressive 5-2 Altoona victory at Senator Thomas J. Dodd Memorial Stadium. Picking up his 5th save was 27-year old right-handed pitcher Stan Martínez. The loss drops Richmond to 9-12.
It could have been a different outcome for Altoona, had it not been for Djoka Uskokovic, the 23-year old center fielder . Uskokovic contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the seventh inning to put Altoona up, 4-2.
"It was a solid team effort," Gray said. "That's usually what it takes to win."
