Cubs Beat Los Angeles A (AZL), 8-7
Crowds lined up early in front of Cubs Park, eagerly awaiting the start of the 2023 Arizona Rookie League season. On the mound was Mike Taylor for the visiting Los Angeles A (AZL) Angels and Keagan Rigg for the hometown Chicago N (AZL) Cubs. In a spirited contest, the Cubs pulled out the win, defeating the Angels by the score of 8-7. Especially impressive was Dan Hall.

Joe Taylor was the walk-off hero for Chicago N (AZL). With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Cubs right fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager Steve Fisher said.
