The Connecticut Tigers beat the State College Spikes by a score of 10-4. Connecticut third baseman Pete Yates deserved the lion's share of the credit. Yates went 2 for 3 with a double and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the Tigers. Randy Rose closed the door for Connecticut, picking up his 1st save of the year. Connecticut is sitting pretty at 36-17.

Yates contributed in the bottom of the first. With a runner on 1st, he hit a double. It was one at-bat among others that helped Connecticut get the win.

"This was a nice win for us," said Yates. "It's one more step toward our ultimate goal."
